Adam Benziger started his career in the craft beer industry before launching Laughing Gut in 2018. He developed an interest in fermentation science while in college which is fundamental to the art of brewing, and expanded his knowledge base with applicable courses at the Siebel Institute of Technology, located in Chicago. Digestive issues with gluten became problematic for a continued career in beer, so he redirected his skill set in a more health-conscious direction as a brewer of Kombucha. Brewing Kombucha at home for personal consumption quickly grew into a family business with Adam responsible for brewing batches, procuring equipment, and developing and refining flavors. His parents Nancy and Kent participate in all aspects of the brewing enterprise, including digital marketing, sales, and financial support.
