This soft and healthy cheese is a Middle Eastern specialty made from strained yogurt and is an excellent alternative to cream cheese. Labne is often flavored with crushed coriander or cumin seeds, citrus zest, a pinch of dried chili, finely chopped fresh herbs, vanilla paste or chopped dried fruits. It's enjoyable on its own, added to a platter of dips and crudit̩s or served as a topping for steamed vegetables. Labne can also be used like cream cheese as a bagel spread. Serve it Greek style on a plate sprinkled with olive oil and freshy chopped mint, accompanied by olives, tomatoes, and crisp cucumber slices.
